Our Carbon Footprint & "Carbon Passport"

Judicare is committed to protecting its impact on the environment.

As a first step we seek to avoid unnecessary travel and energy consumption wherever possible.  If this is not possible we offset our CO2 emissions through the purchase of high quality carbon offsets.  Carbon offsetting is a responsible way to neutralise the carbon emissions we cannot avoid.

Our offsets are provided by Carbon Passport, one of a few companies who sell offsets accredited by the UK government's Quality Assurance Scheme for Carbon Offsetting, and come from projects which prevent or reduce the release of greenhouse gases.  The Certified Emissions Reductions (CERs) we use to offset our emissions are the only accredited offsets that the government recommends for use by individuals or businesses.

CER's are closely monitored by independent bodies to ensure transparency and  ensure that carbon reduction is actually delivered.  We will continue to act responsibly and reduce our greenhouse gas emissions throughout 2010 and we pledge to offset our remaining emissions for the coming year.
