Louis Weston

Louis Weston is a Barrister practising from England but working internationally in Sports Law.  He has been recognised as a leading sports law specialist for many years and also practises in commercial law and professional negligence.  He took a First in Philosophy from Bristol University and is a part time Crown Court Judge (Recorder), is on The FA and Sport Resolutions Panel’s and a member of the ICC’s independent oversight group working in corruption in cricket.  

He has an extensive sports law practice with particular experience and expertise in disciplinary proceedings in Sports Law and his practice is international, working in sports of Racing, Football, Rugby, Badminton, Cricket, Gymnastics and Greyhound racing in corruption, anti-doping and other disciplinary cases.  He has appeared in sports law cases before the High Court and Court of Appeal in the UK and disciplinary tribunal’s in the UK, Ireland, Switzerland and Singapore and regularly advises Sports Governing Bodies on the regulation of their sports.   His commercial and professional negligence practice includes work in multi million pound commercial disputes including those arising from and involving sports players and participants.  He appears before the Courts and in Arbitrations and Mediations.
